Jennifer Mihee Song
Jennifer Mihee Song, founder of Song Piano Studio, has recently been honored as a Steinway & Sons Hall of Fame Teacher, a prestigious recognition awarded to a select group of distinguished educators. Originally from South Korea, Ms. Song has performed a solo recital at Carnegie Hall as part of the New York Artist International Winner Series and has had an illustrious career with victories in the Bradshaw and Buono International, Suri, Nanpa, and Eumyeon competitions. She has showcased her talent in Japan, South Korea, and the United States and has performed extensively with her sisters as part of ‘The Song Trio.’
Ms. Song holds a Professional Studies certificate and a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, where she was a scholarship student. She also graduated with highest honors from Korea National University of Arts and Kyungwon University. Her former teachers include Marc Silverman, Soojung Shin, and Daejin Kim. She has participated in master classes with many renowned pedagogues, such as Maestro Joaquin Achuccaro, Erik Tawaststjerna, Robert Roux, Támas Ungár, Yeheved Kaplinsky, Jean-Paul Sevilla, Mikhail Woskressensky, Yong Hi Moon, and Dae Wook Lee.
As a co-founder and instructor of the OCU Piano Camp alongside Dr. Sergio Monteiro, which began in 2019, Ms. Song continues to contribute significantly to piano education. Her students have achieved success in numerous prestigious competitions, including the American Protégé International Piano Competition, Piano League International Competition, The Kuleshov International Competition, Steinway & Sons Competition, the National Division of the MTNA, as well as the Meinders, Guilliam, Hubbard-Males, and Breckenridge competitions. She has been recognized for her exceptional teaching with the Steinway Top Teacher Award and the Piano League Excellence of Teaching Award.
